Android : Control App of Client Android Device

I would like to develop a server-client architecture in Android device.

I would like to know if it is possible for an application to control another android device.

For example, I have a Book Application, when I turn the page of the Book application, the "client" android device will respond to that "turn of page". The application on the "client" device does not necessarily mean that it is the same app as the "server" device.

I need something to read about this or some tutorial similar to what I want to accomplish.

I don't want to use web app for this if possible.
