Android : Material Design create background interaction

I developing new apps to the new Developer preview of android L, but I am having troubles to understand how can I make an app like the calculator native app, that interacts with the touch and give red effect for incorrect and green effect to clear. If someone could make some example code for how can I apply this effects and explain and give me references how to use this new features, I will be very grateful...
