Android : Modifying an android socket program that sends messages from from server to client, into one that sends an xml file

I am doing android socket programming and I need to transfer a xml file from server to client and then another xml file from client to server. I currently have done a program that sends messages to the client from the server, can anyone help me out with the modifications?
