Android : how to make reference challenge coding in android

what i want is when I create a challenge but send it as link via sms. Once this user creates his account he uses the reference number to retrieve the challenge but I'm not using phone number in sign up process.

How can I do this in native android application.

Is it possible by cookies or by something else?.
