Android : Display a icon when list item is selected

I am creating a app in which i will be using navigation drawer.The drawer will contains a list.now what i want is that when user selects particular list item an icon(my app icon) should be displayed on the far right of the list item.I want to achieve this so that the user knows which item he/she has selected.i didn't find any tutorials on how to achieve this.Please help me out.
