Android : distances returned by getFocusDistances()

on Thursday, September 25, 2014

I am using the getFocusDistances() function with the camera in auto focus mode. The distance (optimal) returned by it are always /10 (approx.) of the actual distance (optimal). Any reason why this is happening? ( I tried with objects within 60 cm).

Also when I use the camera in Fixed focus mode it gives the values as [near]: 0.03m, [optimal]: 0.17m and [hyper]: 2.9m.

I am running my app on my Samsung Galaxy s4 mini.

I looked at many places, but was not able to get any explanation.

Please help.
