Android : Placing an image view at the middle of the actionbar with app title gone

I'm finding difficulty in placing an imageview at the middle of the actionbar. I followed this method posted at How to add imageview on right hand side of action bar? which works well unless i have app logo and app title, but when i remove the app title, the image places itself next to app logo....Please help I'm new to android and java....
