Android : Difference between extending Droidgap and creating Cordova project from CLI

I have a android activity which has a webview and after a specific action it navigates to the second activity which extends droidgap. Pl help me understand if my application can now be called a cordova application since it extends droidgap and has followed steps as mentioned in this link Now if this application cannot be called as a cordova application, pl. explain the difference between extending Droidgap to create cordova project and creating Cordova project from CLI
