Android : Tabspec.setIndicator(ViewGroup)?

I'm wondering if we can set a ViewGroup as the indicator of a Tabspec in a TabHost. I've tried it and the views inside the ViewGroup which is a RelativeLayout is an ImageView but the problem is I couldn't change tabs anymore if I click on the Imageview. I have to click somewhere in the RelativeLayout outside the ImageView to change tabs. I have to stretch the image to cover the whole RelativeLayout but when i do, I cannot change tabs anymore. I have to enclose the ImageView in the RelativeLayout because I have to add a badge in the ImageView. What shall I do? Please help me. Thanks in advance.
