Android : Add contents of local database to a remote database once connected to internet

I am new to android.I want to create a service which will add all the content of local database to remote database once connected to internet.after adding the data to remote databse the local database must be cleaned. pls provide Link to other threads or brief logic sepcifying the classes or methods regarding how to go about the implementation
