This question already has an answer here:
I am currently developing an Android application and using mysql to store my data and I need to be able to store emojis. I followed this guide here https://mathiasbynens.be/notes/mysql-utf8mb4#utf8-to-utf8mb4 to try to enable emoji support using the utf8mb4_unicode_ci. I set my database coallition to the same, but this still does not solve my problem. Is there another source that I can follow to enable this, or is there another way to be able to decode emojis and store them in my database?
